RMIT GRADUATION EXHIBITIONS 2014
RMIT University's Melbourne City Campus
26 November - 5 December 2014
Artists: Wilson Yeung
Artwork Title: The eye is the lamp of the body (Matthew 6:22)
Medium: Wood, Video
Links: www.rmit.edu.au/art
The assumption of existence is often confirmed by visual experience. The idea of the eye as an illuminator, a lamp of the body, symbolizes my visual perception of the world. My project endeavors to blend Western Christianity and Chinese Buddhist concepts. This installation explores the physical barrier between the external world around me and my existence within it. By recreating my visual experience and my physical presence, the work invites others to step inside my internal world. This is part of a series of work in which I explore my existence through the moving image.
